Meet Dr. Rouf

Dr. Emran Rouf has been a resident of Round Rock since 2019 and has actively participated in several community-based groups to serve its citizens. As a board-certified internal medicine physician, he provides clinical care at a community-based clinic that serves the city's indigent population for their primary healthcare needs. Additionally, through his involvement with local community- and faith-based organizations, he has organized health fairs for city residents over the past few years.
As a father of two teenagers, Dr. Rouf strongly believes that the Round Rock City Council should continue to prioritize public safety. With the city's rapid growth, neighborhoods have experienced increased traffic, construction, and an influx of new residents, leading to a rise in petty crimes and thefts. He advocates for continued investment in law enforcement and the implementation of traffic safety measures to ensure Round Rock remains a safe city.
Recognizing Round Rock as one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas, Dr. Rouf emphasizes the need for strategic, sustainable growth that balances economic expansion with environmental preservation. He supports maintaining parks, green spaces, and recreational facilities while ensuring the city accommodates new businesses and residential developments. He also advocates for creating economic opportunities for small businesses and forming partnerships with major technology companies to foster a thriving, modern community.
As a prospective councilmember, Dr. Rouf is committed to investing in transportation infrastructure to accommodate the city’s growth. He stresses the importance of ensuring that key traffic points and crossroads are safe and that pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly routes are incorporated wherever feasible.
Given Round Rock’s rich natural environment, including parks, creeks, and green spaces, Dr. Rouf is dedicated to preserving these natural resources while the city continues to expand. As a physician and advocate for health and wellness, he strongly supports keeping parks open and safe for activities such as walking, biking, and family-friendly recreation. Dr. Rouf is running for Round Rock City Council because he envisions the city as a safe, modern, and thriving community that promotes sustainable growth while preserving its history and natural surroundings.
